The Collection has Games From the '80S and '90S, and Will Expand to Over 100+ Games Over Time
In Xbox's May update, they announced a new collection of games, called Retro Classics, that is now available on Game Pass. The collection has over 50 restored (but not remastered) games, all from Activision and Blizzard. These games are all from the '80s and '90s, but Xbox also said that the collection would be growing to over 100 games over time, so more from the Activision and Blizzard back catalogues will be coming to Game Pass as well.
Ever since Microsoft acquired Activision, fans have wanted to see old Activision titles make their way back onto the market, especially with Xbox's promised commitment to backwards compatibility.
The games will have community challenges, competitive leaderboards, all-new challenge modes, high-score rankings and Game Pass members can also collect achievements on these games. The collection is now available across console, PC, and on supported devices with cloud gaming.
In addition, Xbox also announced in their May update that their PC gamebar would be getting an upgrade, that they're adding more games to their Xbox Cloud Gaming library and they updated the full list of game available for Xbox Play Anywhere. You can read the full update here.
