Ryan Coogler is (or was) addicted to gaming just like the rest of us!
In a recent interview with Hip Hop Gamer, Ryan Coogler shared a few stories about his gaming history, including which game he still plays to this day. Speaking on the press tour for his new hit film Sinners, Coogler revealed that he has an obsessive personality when it comes to playing video games.
He tells a story about once staying up all night to play Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas (relatable!) and nearly missing a road game when he played football at Sacramento State. After that, he knew he had to scale back on his gaming time.
Later, he explains that the only game he’ll really pick up these days is Street Fighter if somebody has it at their house. Beyond that, if a game has a role-playing mode or full season you could simulate, he’d probably get too lost in the game and lose focus on his work.
Coogler's film Sinners has been dominating the box office since its release on April 18th, so it's safe to say he was able to focus on making this movie.
