Team Ninja shared on social media earlier a new short trailer for Ninja Gaiden 4 and WOW does it look good.

The classic hack-n-slash franchise announced Ninja Gaiden 4 at the top of the year, along side a shock drop of a remake in Ninja Gaiden 2 Black. There's no release date yet, but you can expect that to change pretty soon with the upcoming Summer Game Fest and Xbox Showcase events that are planned for early June.

This quick trailer gives a further look at the new ninja Yakumo and of course the OG Ryu Hayabusa. So far, the gameplay looks fast and violent, and there's a clear emphasis on smooth combos and chains, as well as even more verticalily to the fighting and new movement experiences with boss fights.

The official description of the game definitely has us hyped:

"An Ancient Enemy Returns: An endless rain of miasma hangs over a near-future Tokyo in the wake of an ancient enemy’s resurrection. The fate of the city lies in the hands of young ninja prodigy, Yakumo. Fighting his way through cybernetic ninja soldiers and otherworldly creatures, Yakumo must reconcile a destiny he shares with the legendary Ryu Hayabusa himself and free Tokyo from the ancient curse that brought the city to its knees."

Stay tuned for more updates on Ninja Gaiden 4.
