Here’s Everything to Know About Fortnite: Galactic Battle

OkayplayerGo is here to break down everything you need to know about the latest Star Wars x Fortnite collab

Fortnite is taking gamers on a trip across the galaxy when Chapter 6 Season 3 drops after scheduled downtime on May 2nd, 2025 at 2am ET / 11pm PT May 1st.

The new season is called Galactic Battle, and it comes with a Battle Pass, weapons, and maps coming right on time to celebrate the 20th anniversary of Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith.

For the next five weeks, Fortnite players will take a trip to the dark side…or battle against it. This Star Wars takeover is different from any previous offerings in your favorite Battle Royale, and OkayplayerGO has the scoop to make sure you’re ready for your voyage.

SKINS

The Galactic Battle Pass also comes with five new Star Wars skins. From the movies, we’re getting Emperor Palpatine and Poe Dameron (think back to Palatine’s Fortnite live announcement).

We also get two Fortnite-original mashups: Apprentice Evie (as a Jedi trainee), and the Wookiee Team Leader

The fifth skin will unlock when we finish quests in the second half of the season, at which point we can terrorize the Jedi as General Grievous.

BLASTERS

First thing’s first — all of the new weapons in this loot pool COME FROM STAR WARS. Of course, we’ll be running around doing damage with lightsabers…but more on that in a second.

When it comes to distanced damage, note that instead of using ammo, your blasters will overheat when fired quickly. To start off, the weapons pool will include:

  • Reliable DL-44 Blaster Pistol
  • Heavy CR-2 Blaster (an SMG!)
  • Close-range ACP Scatter Blaster and BARM-ST12 Scatter Blaster (shotguns)
  • Close-to-medium range DLT-19 Blaster Rifle
  • Long-range IQA-11 Marksman Blaster Rifle
  • All-purpose A280-CFE Blaster Rifle
  • (unvaulted) Highly accurate DC-15 Heavy Blaster Rifle
  • (unvaulted) Empire standard Issue E-11 Blaster
  • (unvaulted) First Order standard issue F-11 Blaster
  • Thermal Imploder (Grenade)

Note: Although the Thermal Imploder isn’t a blaster, it causes significant damage. Just make sure you get out of the blast radius before its compression vacuum detonates.

We’ll get new goods as the weeks progress. On May 15th, Chewbacca will unvault the Wookiee Bowcaster and reveal the CA-87 Jawa Scatter Blaster shotgun. On May 22nd, the Mandalorians will unvault not only the Mandalorian Jetpack, but also the Amban Sniper Rifle, and Jango Fett’s dual Westar-34 Blaster Pistols. Throughout the season, we’ll move around on flyable TIE Fighters and X-wings.

LIGHTSABERS AND FORCE POWER

At the start of the season, we can train with three different holograms and gain Force powers depending on which hologram we choose. Training with Rey will get you a blue lightsaber and the ability to use Force Push, propelling everything in front of you. For a red lightsaber, train with Palpatine and use Force Lightning to shock the opposition, or defeat Darth Vader Samurai for Force Saber Throw and use your weapon like a boomerang.

Once May 8th hits, we can train with Darth Maul to get a red lightsaber   and Force Throw ability, or we can lock in with Mace Windu to use Force Pull and the rare purple lightsaber (y’all know which one I want).

Note: even though we can only acquire Force abilities that we’ve trained for, we can definitely loot and use any lightsabers that we find on our enemies.

Traverse the skies and tap into the new parts of the map in a single-pilot Imperial TIE Fighter, equipped with high-energy blasters, OR finesse through the battlefield and speed across the map in an agile X-Wing.

MAPS

Epic Games transformed parts of the Chapter 6 island, with Star Wars-themed places of interest, and a few parts of last season’s island left intact.

The First Order Base will replace Demon’s Dojo in the northeast, keeping the snowy mountains and adding a villain base equipped with a hangar for First Order TIE fighters, and battlegrounds for defeating Captain Pharma.

Taking her out which will earn us the Mythic Captain Phasma F-11D Blaster and Pharma’s Blaster Medallion — which reduces blaster overheating and shortens cooldown times; but it also makes us visible on the enemy’s mini-maps (the detection radius increases the more medals we hold). Check out the utility shaft for the stealthiest approach.

The Outpost Enclave is a dangerous and lively hub of smuggler activity that will replace Hopeful Heights in the southeast part of the map. Make sure to check out the interior of the parked sand crawler.

The Resistance Base is an underground command center, hiding X-Wings and loot under foliage in the northwest part of the map.

Vader Samurai’s Solitude is full of stormtrooper samurai guards, and Darth Vader Samurai himself.

On May 29th, the Star Destroyer will become accessible via a single portal that spawns each match, and we’ll be able to assume control of its turbolaser to do damage from above.

Returning places of interest include:

* Flooded Frogs

* Magic Mosses

* Pumped Power

* Lonewolf Lair

* Brutal Boxcars

* Foxy Floodgate

* Seaport City

* Shining Span

* Masked Meadows

* Kappa Kappa Factory

* Canyon Crossing

* Shiny Shafts

* Outlaw Oasis

* Crime City
