Publisher earnings calls can contain some nuggets of news, and EA shared updates on two major upcoming games on their call today.

The next Battlefield game has been holding closed alphas, with clips of gameplay supposedly leaking online, so hype for the legendary franchise has been growing. According to EA, they expect the next Battlefield to drop by March 2026, the end of the next financial year. EA cannot afford another Battlefield flop after what happened with 2042, so expect them to keep this game for a long as necessary before dropping it.

The other game to receive an update today was Skate., which was first announced in 2020. A follow up to the Skate franchise from the early 2000s, Skate. is also set to drop before March 2026, so hopefully we get this game sooner rather than later. News has been sparse, but EA did announce last month that closed play-tests had begun for the popular skate sim. Skate 3 turns 15 on May 11th, so fans of the franchise will be hungry for more news on the upcoming game.

Andrew Wilson, EA's CEO, shared in a statement following the call the company's outlook for the next financial year: “As we look to the future, we’re confident in our ability to execute across a deep pipeline — beginning this summer with the highly anticipated reveal of ‘Battlefield,’ a pivotal step in delivering on our next generation of blockbuster entertainment.”
